Hi I have a red SLC that i am building up. Mine was shipped down to Tasmania from Craig in october. It would be good to compare builds as I have found some parts hard to track down.
Regards,
jock
Have you got Aussie compliancy as yet as by all accounts it was a nightmare for craig7ls slc 023 chassis

thanking you
Two Things…
(maybe more)…
Jock – I think I now know who owns the lovely red chassis that is featured on the cover of Craig’s Build Manual – best of luck and yes, lets keep in touch.
and Mr Pink…
I have not got the Aussie compliancy yet – Craig thinks it will be fairly straight forward. Time will tell
MrPink (and Jock);
The compliance issue in Australia is completely different to what was (unfortunately) experienced in the UK. The Australian SL-C’s differ in specification to the USA versions. It is to Craig’s credit, that he has established a real manufacturing facility for the vehicle in Australia. His changes are quite fundamental to the usability of the car and he tends to under play them. And they range from changing the rear clip point re: the diffuser, to building/mounting intrusion bars in the doors, to double skinning the front and rear clips – and the list goes on.
Craig White has taken an excellent product and fundamentally enhanced its usability – to a VERY demanding standard. And the improvements simply do not stop. Everytime I talk to Craig – the offering just gets better. Which for a rookie builder like myself is FANTASTIC.
One of the key things that led me to work with Craig in Australia is his car and attention to all the paperwork and politics underlying how you get a car complied. And to my great satisfaction (and relief) currently, there are fully complianced and street registered here versions here.
ive bui9lt a yelloe rcr clc, #36. ive had a tag since december ’10. what parts are you having problems tracking? how ur build going?
Howdy;
This one is #5 in Australia and things are going well. My parts problems are no one’s fault at the moment – some things just take time. Craig White and his operation in the Gold Coast have been incredibly helpful and much appreciated. He has taken Fran’s fantastic base package and done some incredible things with the basic body and chassis combination that make the Australian version of the SLC quite a unique car – as compared to what can be sourced elsewhere in the world. Little things that make an immense difference like ant-intrusion bars for the doors, a steel reinforced door striker plate (so it NEVER wobbles), a drip tray for the interior to seal off any leaks from the roof scoop… and on and on.
- thanks for the interest
Hi Scott.
How is your SLC going? Me and a mate (myself and a mate :0) have been planning our builds since the start of the year. Unfortunately with Craig no longer able to help out, we are unsure if wether to go ahead with importing from the US or to just build a boring looking GT40 like every one else
Some of the mods that craig made are what Im most concerned about missing out on. I havent spoken to him about exactly what went wrong (I can only imagine he has been flooded with the same questions over and over) with the RCR relationship, but it’s really fizzled my enthusiasm. Plus we now have two supercharged 3UR-FE motors rebuilt with no where to slot into.
Would like to know more about how your build has been going, including the highlights and lowlights.
Cheers, and good luck,
Aaron
